Permit Path is a long overdue resource designed to serve a missing segment of the building industry, permit information acquisition.
Our research found that at the end of 2009 less than 60% of the municipalities in Walworth County had websites. Only 20% had permit information available on their website and the information provided was considerably incomplete. During the information acquisition phase of our research, it was concluded that finding building permit information was almost impossible without extensive research, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
Pulling permits should not have to be so complicated and time-consuming. In general, the building industry has been somewhat hesitant to fully embrace technology. This has created a ‘lag time’ in computerization and modernization of the way that industry does business. However, this is changing and changing rapidly due to the state of our economy. Everything today is about efficiency.
