Town of Darien, WI - rezone
What is a Rezone?
A rezone is the change of zoning classification of a particular parcel or parcels of land. A zoning classification is also referred to as a Zoning District, which establishes various regulations and standards for both use and development of property.
When do I need a Rezone?
Changes in the use of a parcel may require a rezone. For example, if you own a parcel designated as agricultural but want to use the parcel for business, you may need to rezone. Your desire to rezone a parcel does not guarantee that the municipality will find your request favorable. There are many factors that a municipality will consider before rezoning a parcel including but not limited to the current and future use, surrounding parcel use, municipal comprehensive plans, etc.
Contact your local zoning administrator for more information in applying for a rezone.
